Traveling is awesome. I travel all the time, I love it. I love wondering the streets of other countries and being emerged in other cultures. And I love taking some good hair pics in these awesome places.
Some things I've noticed while all around the world is that your hair and extensions react differently wherever you are. Why is that? Good question. Well a lot goes into that, some reasons are climate, humidity, types of bodies of water (oceans, lakes, seas, pools, etc.), water pressure and condition (soft water, hard water, well water, etc), even just environment affects how the extensions will react.
SOME TIPS WHEN TRAVELING:
Wash your hair before you leave for your trip, that way you don't feel like you need to wash your hair as often while you're abroad. Avoiding water that won't benefit your hair wash. Definitely bring some dry shampoo though.
Make sure you bring your hair product essentials!! America's limits are 4 fl. oz for carry-ons but other countries vary and can be less. What you need: Travel sized (2 fl. oz) shampoo and conditioner, leave-in conditioner and hair oil!
Braid your hair at night, then your hair is already styled for the next day! The wattage in other countries vary and can totally throw you off when using your heat styling products. Hot tools can get too hot even at their normal settings. So if you're doing your normal timing for curling irons or straighteners, they could potentially burn your hair! Yikes. One time when I was in Greece, I blew the circuit while trying to blow dry my hair.. Yes, I wore braids the rest of the trip.
Leave your hot tools at home! They add weight and bulk in your bags and who wants to carry all that? Your hair and extensions will love the break. Let your hair air dry, enjoy the natural wave. Chances are that if wherever you are going is humid, hot tools won't help anyway. Bring an oil or an anti-frizz product to help counter the humidity.
Wherever you're traveling, make sure you still care for your hair. More importantly, have fun and be safe!
